Directions

From Los Angeles:

From I-10 East take the Gene Autry exit, turning right, and stay on Gene Autry to the foothills. Turn left at E. Palm Canyon Drive (Hwy 111). Turn right at W. Buddy Rogers Ave.

From Phoenix:

From I-10 West take the Date Palm exit and stay on Date Palm to the foothills. Turn right at E. Palm Canyon Dr. (Hwy 111). Turn left at W. Buddy Rogers Ave.

The Gay Callers’ Association (GCA) formed in 1988. Early gay square dance clubs faced a lot of animosity from straight clubs. Many straight callers preferred not to work for gay clubs, and of those that did, some were threatened that they would no longer be able to work for straight clubs. The GCA has since trained hundreds of gay callers, with many headlining at our annual conventions.

Times changed… With the decline in straight clubs, and the popularity of gay events, many straight callers now welcome the opportunity to call for us. Since events often require callers to be members of the GCA, we now have a number of straight members in the association!
